Real World Cruise Figures: I've never gotten into the "performance comparisons" thing. I don't bother with TAS, because it is whatever it is. I cruise at 2300 rpm, burn 6.8-7 gph, and indicate about 140-145 mph. Using the Fuel Scan fuel computer, I've found that increased RPMs result in increased fuel flow without what I consider a sufficiently proportional increase in IAS. So 2300 is where I cruise, especially on long trips, where an added fuel stop will easily negate a small increase in speed. I flight plan for 140 knots.
